Social cinema as a notion involves no funds, but narrating of hardships, orphanage, mental perplexities and tough life experience. My protagonists are selfless and of rich spiritual history. In Hollywoodian dimension tgey are recognized (Liftoff Festival, Stage32). In European dimension, they are somewhat legendary and inheriting to Antonioni, Visconti, Dzafirelli. My former coursemates lead me to acquaintances with Pazolini and Tonino Guerra, in person. I took after Paradjanov and Ioseliani, as...

*** Dzaferelli and Visconti. Our last applauding to both. They mean not what they signify, but what they long for, what they prevent and what they undermean.
The lost world at the bottom of the Como lake. Dario Fo, his subtle humor that went into sand and cliffs. Acrid nostalgia of the elated cinema of last decades. Nothing will return. No country in the world may offer anything upmost like that, instead. Not even my home Russia where the names of Parajanov and Ioseliani are irrevocably lo...

Moscow is full of announcements of "Gentleman Jack". They come from best known criticists the Muscovites that primarily cultivated more trivial themes.
I care little for cheap publicity, but the theme obliges me to form up an utterance that is tightly connected to my former practice in feature genres. My angle is neither Oriental nor Western. My sketchery of vivid remembrances sounds wothier than outer impressions of a sufficiently trite screen plot.
Actually we can easily associate ...

I am thinking of the persentage with which arthouse films may boost or annoy the audience of ordinary viewers. And I jum up to the same precise conclusion, that our genres may be freely estimated by our colleagues, of similar thematic background and capacities. There should exist pride in screen proficiency, as it may be represented at social categories. Masters and disciples are undoubtedly interlaced and mutually excited of one another, in thematic groups. It is of audacity and dare, to notice...
Respected readers, I am pleased to greet you after quite a pause. Our kind chief editor helped me through technical hardships. I am thankful to Mnsr Bruno Chatelin for his kind assistance and resultive help (whose screen genres I estimate probably the most among contemporary ones), so now my account is revived.
Entire last winter I spent at the Black Sea where my screenings took place at respected assembly halls of Sochi: "Coral", "The Lost Paradise", "Grand-Hall&...

Respected colleagues. This my film, of Akhmatova, passed several meaningful events. In 2012 it received a diploma "For Genre Debut" of rdff at Manhattan. In 2013 it was planned to be demonstrated in Cannes. In 2014 it was shown on Malta before the heads of EK and of European states. And the film was screened twice at the Black Sea Shore, in 2015 and 2019, for the 2nd time - in Eupatoria, home city for Akhmatova's adolescence. I consider it a happy coincidence and a rare happe...
Brodsky's Formulas of Poetry at Screening and More Strokes for Landscapes
A Publicity Article by Anna Polibina-Polansky (a Revised and Replentished Version)
Brodsky's formulas of poetry are precise though sometimes they do sound vapory, vague, lacking contours and keeping repetitions and plain similes. He means definite terms under which the poetic genres may freely go. Mr Joseph Brodsky at his Nobeli speech over genres of literature admitted that poetry is a huge amplifier a...

Instead of Carols
By Anna Polibina-Polansky
Merry Christmas everyone, at each nook of the earth.
We have been wished the same, from the year of our birth.
Let the new year bring us much peace and joy,
Many happy adventures to easily join.
Many happy returns of Jesus into our lives.
Wish you, meeting our former craving and of future common strives.
Let the world stay the place to sojourn, in mirth.
Let the idea of salvation spread over the earth.
I am staying about, to support y...
*** "Corpus Christi" by Yan Comasa (a Polish film director) after having gathered a crop of awards, in Venice and Toronto, will be the 1st to be nominated for the Oscar Prize. The Ozy Group has also informed the readers that "The Hater", his prior film, picked up numerous awards at Broadway and regular festivities. I consider the theme itself meaningful, as the European Knighthood is yet to be covered by screeners, at a multitude of prospectives. I have issued sev...
Out of Joseph Brodsky
The English Poetic Translations, by Anna Polibina-Polansky
The Speech of the up Spilled Milk (1)
1
So the Christmas brings me the empty pocket.
So the publisher lingers with my novel. It's locked, yet.
So Muslim dates do infect Moscow and mock it.
I can't get up and return to the place
Of my buddy, it's crammed with crying kids.
And my slut is getting rid of her shit.
Everywhere, money is needed, or tons of wits.
I sit, and trembles o...

The English Poetic Renditions, by Anna Polibina-Polansky
At the Dusk
The haystock's touched up, by snow.
Through holes beyond, it's sown.
My shovel found a fly
Under the hay, yet alive.
So the little fly meant
Here, all winter, to spend.
It watched the bat
Of the petrol lamp, smoking bad.
The timber wall
Is lit. The dust is small,
But I see its pollen, more clearly
Than my palm, than fire appearing.
Among the evening haze
We two stand alone...
My fresh genre self-announcement has recently appeared. My film-essay of Akhmatova "The Clay of Magic Sounds" (director-essayist Anna Polibina-Polansky) that received an award at Tribeca Cinemas, Manhattan in 2012 and was demonstrated also on Malta back in 2014. It was a genre tribute to memorizing of the poetess. Warm welcoming, worshippers.
