MIFF celebrates France and Iran
MIFF board has selected to spot the light on two of the leading cinema production countries in the world. The section named EU Dialogue will focus the attention every year on a different country of European cinema. For the first edition MIFF selected France. The section will count 10 films. Some of the films admitted to this section are: The box office animated hit “Azur et Asmar” directed by Michel Ocelot, “Indigenes” directed by Rachid Bouchareb which represents France in the Oscar 2007, “Exils” directed by Tony Gatlif, “La Tourneuse de pages” directed by Denis Dercourt and other films. The section will be organized with the support of CNC “Centre National de la cinématographie”. For the World Panorama section celebrating Iranian cinema some of the selected films are: “Cease Fire” directed by Tahmina Milani, “Café Transit” directed by Kambosia Partovi and other films. (Malta International Film Festival) For the first time Malta will celebrate International Cinema in a huge international film festival under the name of “Malta International Film Festival” from the 15th till 23rd September 2007. The event is organized by – Association pour l'échange culturel entre l'Europe et l'Orient (AECEO) an association based in Paris with the cooperation of AraMage Artistic Production, a leading international production company and AJR Events a leading event management company in Malta with the support of the Maltese Ministry of tourism and culture. The festival board has approached a number of international celebrities to participate in the first round as guests, tributes and jury members. Also a number of international cinema organizations and companies have been approached to participate in this event. The festival will have more than five different sections with an international competition for long feature films. An international film market will be held during the festival with participation of more than 50 international companies and organizations than and the festival will held more than ten different activities. The festival aims to promote Malta as a desirable film shooting location and to open a dialogue between cinema professionals all over the world.
