The Best Film: The Future Last Forever

The awarded films of the 2nd Malatya International Film Festival were announced at the festival's glorious closing gala on 24th of November. ‘Migration’ main themed festival’s juries awarded the ‘Best of 2011’.

120 feature and short films from around 40 different countries were screened during the week full of activities. Sponsored by Manas Homes, the festival was organized by World Mass Media Research Foundation with the support of the Malatya Apricot Research, Development and Promotion Foundation and Malatya Governorship and the Malatya Governor Ulvi Saran. Crystal Apricot ‘THE FUTURE LAST FOREVERNational Feature Film Competition jurors, Semir Aslanyürek, Senay Aydemir, Sevilay Çelenk, Eylem Yıldız, Serdar Orçin awarded Ozcan Alper’s ‘GELECEK UZUN SÜRER – THE FUTURE LASTS FOREVER’ for the best film for its success to translate the pain of the war and trauma in to the language of cinema.  

The International Feature Film Competition jurors, Mithat Alam, Roger Christian, Ludek Drizhal, Shahla Nahid and Andrea Roberti awarded Philippe LeGuay’sLES FEMMES DU 6ÉME ÉTAGE / THE WOMEN ON THE 6th FLOOR’ with the Best International Film.
