Dawn recently directed "Look Who's Stalking", a tv series for the BIO Channel which airs in the US and UK in March and April 2013.

Festival 25 for "Covariance"!

"Covariance" received its 25th festival acceptance today from the 38th annual Filmets: Badalona International Film Fest in Spain (near Barcelona) for November 16-25, 2012.

This is a special festival for filmmaker Dawn Westlake as she was an exchange student in Barcelona in 1980, and she considers Catalunya to be a second home.

24th Festival for "Covariance"!

"Covariance" received its 24th festival acceptance from the 63rd annual Mostra Internazionale di Film in Montecatini, Italy for October 25-27, 2012.

The film stars David Razowsky and Dawn Westlake. Cinematography was by Francesco Uboldi. Editing by Brandon Bondehagen. Original music was provided by Gregory Johnson of Acoustic Labs. The film has so far received three nominations for Best Film at festivals in South Africa, Brazil and Rwanda, and a nomination of Best Actress in Brazil.

23rd Acceptance for "Covariance"!

"Covariance" will play the Portobello Film Festival in London, England on Sat., Sept. 8th, 2012. This is the 23rd festival acceptance for the film.

Portobello Film Festival is held at Westbourne Studios in London, and admission is free to all people over 18 years of age.

Another Nomination for "Covariance"!

"Covariance" was nominated Best Short Film at the 2012 Rwanda International Film Festival in Kigali last week.

This is the third such nomination for the film. It received Best Film nods at the Cape Winelands Film Fest in Capetown, South Africa in March, and Best Digital Film and Best Actress nominations at the Art Deco Film Fest in Sao Paulo, Brazil this month.

Two Nominations for "Covariance" in Brazil!

"Covariance" has been nominated for two awards by the jury of the 2012 Art Deco Film Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 13.5-minute film which explores the fantasies of two gambling addicts has garnered nods as Best Digital Capture Film and Best Actress for Dawn Westlake.

"Covariance" (2011/USA/13.5 mins.) received its 22nd film festival
acceptance from Sao Paulo, Brazil for the Art Deco Film Festival, July
2-21, 2012.

The film stars David Razowsky and Dawn Westlake.
Cinematography is by Francesco Uboldi. 2nd Unit/DIT/Editing by Brandon
Bondehagen. The film was generously supported in the camera department
by Canon USA, Inc. and was shot on three Canon 5D Mark IIs.

"Covariance" will screen in the Video on the Beach section of the
Kino Otok Isola Cinema Festival in Isola (and later Ljubljana), Slovenia
from May 30-June 6, 2012.

This is the 19th festival acceptance for the film, which has now played on 5 continents.

Covariance receives 5 invitations in one week!

"Covariance" received invitations to 5 more festivals this week!

The film will screen for at least 3,000 people at the Bushfire Film Festival in Malkerns, Swaziland at the end of May.

From June 1-17, it screens with CinemAvvenire in Rome, Italy. 

It continues a tour of Italy with Cinema da Mare Film Fest from July to September.

At the end of September, the film has its Greek premiere at the Patras International Film Festival in Patras City.

The final invitation of the week came from the Gold Lion Film Festival, in Manzini, Swaziland, for October.

"Covariance" was judged among the finalists by the jury of the Johnstown Film Festival in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, USA. It will be projected with the award-winning films and other finalists on Sat., June 9th at People's Natural Gas Park in downtown Johnstown.

"Covariance" receives nomination at Cape Winelands Film Festival

"Covariance" was nominated Best International Short Film at the Cape
Winelands Film Festival Awards Gala held at Oude Libertas amphitheatre
in Stellenbosch, South Africa on March 24, 2012.

Out of the 59
short films presented between March 14-24, the five nominated were "41
Days" by Ahmed Aziz of Egypt, "Night Visit" by Piotr Chrzan of Poland,
"Siggil" by Remi Mazet of France, "1937" by Svetozar Golovlev of Russia,
and "Covariance" by Dawn Westlake of the United States. The prize went
to Russia's "1937".

"Covariance" to have South American premiere!

"Covariance" will play in the Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes
de Cusco on November 19th, 2011 in Sala Banderas in the Palacio
Municipal of Cusco. The film was written, produced and directed by Dawn
Westlake. Westlake's 2010 film "A.L.I.C.E." was also accepted to the
festival and will screen there on November 17th.

Covariance Gains 3rd Festival on 3rd Continent!

"Covariance" has been accepted to its third festival on three
continents. The film will play at the Valpolicella Film Festival in San
Pietro in Cariano, Italy from December 1-3, 2011. "Covariance" is the
only US film in competition. Since its release, "Covariance" has also
been invited to fests in Australia and Africa.

Covariance Gains 2nd Festival Berth on 2nd Continent!

"Covariance" will play the Zimbabwe Int'l Film Festival in Harare between Sept. 30th-October 7th, 2011. This is the film's 2nd festival acceptance in as many continents! (Its first fest was Comfortable Shorts, Melbourne, Australia on Sept. 20th.)
