More than 250 short and feature length films from 52 countries have been selected for the 28th edition of exground filmfest (13 – 22 November 2015). In addition to the traditional sections and competitions numerous special events complete the diverse programme. Please find the full programme here. An abundance of premieres at exground filmfest
With eight world premieres, two international, three European and 48 German premieres exground filmfest once again presents a great variety of indie films on the big screen.
In the section American Independents Roni Ezra's feature film debut EVERYTHING’S GONNA BE PINK will have its world premiere on November 18 at 8 pm at Murnau Filmtheater. An emotional portrait, EVERYTHING’S GONNA BE PINK combines the stories of three women in New York looking for love. After the screening Roni Ezra and producer Christina Pastor will be available for a Q&A.
In Sarah Adina Smith’s THE MIDNIGHT SWIM three sisters return home after their mother's disappearance in Spirit Lake. But when the sisters jokingly summon a local ghost, their relationship begins to unravel and they find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the true mystery of the lake. Lead actress Jennifer Lafleur will be present for the German premiere on November 21 at 8 pm in Murnau Filmtheater.

FOREVER

ANEMISTIRAS
|
|
|
The programme section Fokus, with Greece as this year’s country in focus, features a total of four German premieres. In FOREVER two lonely souls meet in Athens. Director Margarita Manda carefully examines the question whether there is hope for their love in this wonderful ode to cinema. Manda is expected to attend the premiere on November 21 at 6 pm at the Murnau Filmtheater. Dimitris Bitos’ directing debut ANEMISTIRAS shows to what lengths a daughter is willing to go in order to end her parents' constant fighting.
The programme section International offers two European premieres: the Luxembourg film NEVER DIE YOUNG by Pol Cruchten tells the real-life and tragic story of drug addict Guido Peters. The script to this remarkable portrait was written in collaboration with Daniel Kehlmann – actor August Diehl is one of the voice-overs narrating the story. In UN-WISHED directed by Borzo Niknejad from Iran unexpected situations cause the belief principles of a religious man to totter. A beautifully shot road-movie about humanity – and the power of love.

NEVER DIE YOUNG

BARASH

|
Once again the festival devotes a programme section to a younger audience with the exground youth days. In the Israeli film BARASH the world of 17 year-old Na'ama is turned upside down through the love for the new girl at school. Michal Vinik's film also has its German premiere in Wiesbaden and competes with six other feature length films for the awards of the International Youthfilm Competition.
