THE GEESE OF KARS

 Symbolising the predominently agricultural character of the region of KARS bordering Armenia where every family living in a house, raises geese, the GOLDEN Goose is also the major award of the 13th European Films Festival on Wheels.

 On its second day, participants travelled to the ancient city of ANI through rollıng hılls and valleys to admire the ruins of the city in Turkey's easternmost province.
.
In a country where the Mınıster of Culture equally holds both porfolios of culture and Tourısm, the accent was on sharing its ancient past with the festival guests.

On the movıe front. legendary Turkish film director and actor Yilmaz Güney's "Yol" (The Way) was screened in the event.and dıscussed by popular lead actor Tarak AKAN. A 30-minute footage, which was never used in the film, was shown for the first time, 25 years after production. Donat Keusch, the Swiss producer of the film, head of Cactus Film at that time and Elizabeth Waelchli, who edited the film together with Yilmaz Güney were part of the Panel dıscussıon.
