The first Animation Day at the Cannes Film Festival, that took place today at the Horyou Village, located at the grounds of Le Grand Hotel Cannes created a fertile ground for animation producers, filmmakers and animation lovers to share news around their work, while attending a panel discussion and a screening of Best Of films from MIAFF 2015. Among the films screened were The Best Short Film Winner Aubade, directed by Mauro Carraro (Switzerland), Castillo y el Armado, dir. by Pedro Harres (Brazil) and Last Dance on the Main by Aristofanis Soulikias.

In presence of Argentinian delegates at the Cannes Film Festival, the Animation Day concluded with reception of the award fro Best Feature Film at MIAFF 2015, which was awarded to Anima Bueno Aires by Maria Veronica Ramirez (Argentina) at the closing ceremony in Montreal on April 19th.

Director of the festival, Laurie Gordon spoke announced the creation of the Ryan Larkin Foundation, one of the festival’s initiatives, which was accompanied by the screening of a short clip from her film Spare Change
