Keeping it RealThese days people go and watch movies that have high quality visual effects and enjoy seeing large explosions, incredible creatures that look as of they could really exist, mind blowing action sequences, 3D images, and a variety of different effects that technology is allowing filmmakers and studios -who have the budget- to do. However, with all the advances there is always the same complaint from movie goers and critics saying that what they are seeing on screen is not realistic. They always look for something to give them the sense of realism. Sure that was a visually stunning explosion, but could it really happen? Could the alien from a different planet really fall in love with that earthling? No matter how advanced technology gets we are always looking for something real and tangible, whether it be the story or what we see on the silver screen. This is where we bring in movies that aren't produced with high budgets. These are the films that bring the real world into what we see on screen. If you're looking for a sense of realism, there's no better place to look than from the source material itself that deals with real life situations. The Third World Independent Film Festival brings in these real issues and show them on screen. From the people who have lived through these stories and the people who grew up in these situations, the reality of what is happening all over the world in these Third World Countries will be revealed during the few nights the film festival will run. Why not come by and see these REAL stories, told by REAL people, put in REAL situations, for the support of REAL people who walk, live and breathe the Third World. This is more than just reality tv... It is REALITY. 25.04.2011 | TWIFF's blog Cat. : African asian directors Entertainment Entertainment festivals filmmakers films latino Metaphysics Nature Philosophical realism Philosophy Philosophy of mind producers Reality Reality television Religion Religion screenwriters student The Third World Independent Film Festival FESTIVALS
