HAWAII INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES
THE NEW PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

General Manager and Vice President of the local TV station, KBFD,
Jeff Chung, becomes HIFF’s new President and Chairman

Hawaii International Film Festival announces its new President and Chairman of the Board of Directors. General Manager and Vice President of local TV station KBFD, Jeff Chung, began his term on January 1, 2005.

“Jeff Chung has been very involved with HIFF over the years as a member of the Board. He is an integral and important part of the recent successes of the festival,” said Chuck Boller, Executive Director of the Hawaii International Film Festival. “Jeff Portnoy, our past President, deserves a lot of credit and our enthusiastic gratitude for helping to lead HIFF through some challenging times and we’re pleased Jeff will continue to serve on the Board of Directors.”

"I am thrilled to lead HIFF into its 25th year!" said Jeff Chung, HIFF’s new President and Chairman of the Board. "With a great board and a hard working staff, HIFF is poised to have another successful year."

Jeff Chung is the General Manager and Vice President of Hawaii’s only locally owned and operated television station, KBFD. KBFD offers Asian programming in its original language with English subtitles. The station has enjoyed wide spread popularity with the introduction of Korean dramas to Hawaii. KBFD was the first television channel in the USA dedicated to Korean programming.

Jeff Chung was previously the Vice President of HIFF and has been an active board member since 1999. Jeff is a proud 1986 graduate of Roosevelt High School and received his B.A. in Economics from Willamette University in 1990.
