Japanese Night in Cannes 2026

Japanese Night was a success! This reception was an exclusive formal event. It brought together film directors, producers, and other industry professionals from Japan and around the world to celebrate the 79th Festival de Cannes. Guests had the opportunity to experience Japan’s rich and diverse culture with food and drink, music, and speakers.  

Japan is the Country of Honour at the 2026 Cannes Marché du Film. Five Japanese films are also featured in the Official Selection of the 79th Festival de Cannes, including: ALL OF A SUDDEN by Ryūsuke Hamaguchi | In Competition, SHEEP IN THE BOX by Hirokazu Kore-eda | In Competition, NAGI NOTES by Koji Fukada | In Competition, ALL THE LOVERS IN THE NIGHT by Yukiko Sode | Un Certain Regard, KOKUROJO (THE SAMURAI AND THE PRISONER) by Kiyoshi Kurosawa | Cannes Premiere. This is a huge year for Japan!
