The 24thAnnual 2009 International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) presented by the Winter Music Conference; hosted by chief executive officer/founder Daniel Glass, Glassnote Records, Charo and Felix Sama was held at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa, Miami Beach, FL, Thursday, March 26, 2009, 8:00 PM. IDMA annually acknowledges exceptional achievements and innovation in the dance and electronic music industry worldwide (artists, DJs, producers, promoters, remixers, record labels, radio shows, podcasts, dance venues, audio software, sound system, media technologies and audio manufacturers). A cocktail reception preceded the 2009 IDMA Awards.

Special performances and appearances included Don Diablo, JES, LMFAO, DJ Rap with fellows of the New World Symphony, Above & Beyond, Anane, ATB, Bimbo Jones, BT, Carl Cox, Cevin Fisher, Colette, Crooklyn Clan, Daniella, Dave Dresden, Deadmau5, Dirty South, DJ Enferno, Fritz Helder & The Phantoms, Morgan Page, Mysterysa, Paul Van Dyk, Peter Rock, Roni Size, Tiesto, Tracy Young and Utada.

2009 IDMA ceremony included 51 awards within 39 categories. The awards were presented to the following winners:

* Best Alternative/Rock Dance Track, The Killers (Island Records) for HUMAN.

* Best Underground Dance Track, Eric Prydz (Pryda/Ultra Records) for PJANOO.

* Best Pop Dance Track, Lady Gaga (Interscope) for JUST DANCE.

* Best Rap/Hip Hop Dance Track, Kanye West (Roc-A-Fella Records) for LOVE LOCKDOWN.
