Yehonatan Indursky Attends Autonomies U.S. Premiere at NYJFF 2019

By Maria Esteves – January 22, 2019

The 28th New York Jewish Film Festival Centerpiece U.S. Premiere of AUTONOMIES, by Award-winning Israeli filmmaker Yehonatan Indursky commenced Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater. A special Q&A discussion immediately followed with director Indusrky and interpreter Amir Bogen moderated by NYJFF programmer Gabriel Grossman. Director Indursky discussed the reason for the name tag switch of a new born child by a nurse in the Hospital's delivery room, and the climatic ending, home being Kreinitz. Questions posed to director Indursky by moderator Grossman and the general audience included How has been the reaction to this film in Israel so far? Was there a concentrated reason behind the dystopian world you created between the secular, ultra-Orthodox and modern Orthodox Jews?
