The winner of the 2026 Palme D’or at the 79th Cannes Film Festival is:  FJORD by De Cristian Mungiu!!! 

The award for Best Director at the 79th Cannes Film Festival was given to both “Fatherland” by Pawel Pawlikowski, and “La Bola Negra” by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi.

Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto were awarded the Best Actress honors for their compelling performances in the film All of a Sudden. Jury member Chloé Zhau announced the award.
