Filmmakers who create films that are chosen for the festival will have their films screened by professionals, shown in front of large audiences and posted on the festival site, earn IMDB credits and compete for $10,000 worth of prize money.
Filmmakers must submit their films and a matching 100 word script. Please send your script (with your full name and title of film) to info@100wordsfilmfestival.com. Films should NOT include a graphic word counter. If your film is selected for the festival, the festival's graphics team will add the appropriate 100 words graphic counter to your film.
The 100 Words Film Festival celebrates concise storytelling for professional and student filmmakers. Each film must use EXACTLY 100 spoken words. This is the only festival requirement. Films can be any length and on any subject.

1. All films must be submitted through Withoutabox.com. If you are having trouble uploading at that site, please visit here.
2. Films must be exactly 100 SPOKEN WORDS. Submission must include a final script to verify word count. Please email your script (with you full name and name of film) to info@100wordsfilmfestival.com.
3. The 100 Words Film Festival, LLC graphics department will add our trademarked graphic counter to all films that are accepted. Please be sure NOT to include a graphic counter and to leave the bottom left corner of frame free of text/graphics. The placement of the counter within frame can be viewed here.
4. If your film is selected for the festival, please be ready to provide a full size, Apple ProRes .MOV file. If you are unable to obtain this format, please contact us and we can assist. We want your film to look as sharp as possible when viewed by the public.
5. Films must have licensed clearances on all graphics, locations, logos, materials, music and personal appearances before submitting.
6. Due to the word count criterion, and challenges with some translations, all films MUST be in English.
7. Conjunctions like “it’s” “that’s” “can’t” and hyphened words like “forty-five” “mid-July” “self-assured” will be considered 1 word.
8. Please pay attention to numbers and dates, “Two Hundred and Forty-five” would count as 4 words. The year “Nineteen Eighty-Two” would count as 2 words.
9. Credit rolls may run up to 15 seconds at the end of your film.
10. Student Filmmakers must include a photo of a current, valid student ID or proof of enrollment when submitting. Please email to info@100wordsfilmfestival.com.
11. If your film is accepted by the 100 Words Film Festival, please be prepared to send us a picture of the film's director (300dpi .tiff or .jpeg) and a Director's biography that is exactly 100 words.
12. All genres will be accepted with the exception of films containing strong sexual content and/or gratuitous graphic violence.
13. There is no Extended Deadline. All films MUST be to our office by October 1st, 2015.
