Kolski, 56, has been described as a master of Polish “magical realism” and is certainly one of the few directors of his generation who can be called an auteur. At his press conference Kolski said ...

Fallbrook Film Festival - The Frank Capra Award- Call For Films

http://www.fallbrookfilmfestival.com/

https://www.withoutabox.com/01festival/01t_acc/01t_acc_edit.php?festival_id=6206

Located in Southern California, Fallbrook and its surrounding communities is a beehive of creative energies: artists, sculptors, writers, actors, musicians, dancers, designers, and filmmakers. In 2006, the non-profit Fallbrook Film Factory was formed to foster filmmaking activities similar to community theatre, and out of that the Fallbrook International Film Festival evolved, now entering its fifth season. Fallbrook was also the family home to one of Hollywood’s all-time filmmaking legends Frank Capra during the height of his filmmaking career. To that aim, we have been most fortunate to gain the support of the Capra family, allowing us to host a very special award in his name. And this year, due to the strong support from the Hollywood stunt community, we are adding Action Films as an award category and workshops with top stunt directors, reveling this hidden art of filmmaking.

Danis Tanovic – the family man who can’t forget the war

user
During the meeting with the audience after the screening of his film Baggage in the Cinema House, Danis Tanovic said that he’s actually quite a joyful person and loves to laugh. But in our conversation he was quite serious and said that certain things make him quite pessimistic. Going back through his films, it is easy to spot the humor in all of them, but it usually serves to lighten up a very dark situation, and to help you through it. Perhaps, the more seriously you look towards...

SUBMIT YOUR FILM to the 14:TH NORRKOPING FILMFESTIVAL FLIMMER

Hello! You´re now welcome to submit your film to the upcoming 14th Norrkoping Film Festival Flimmer. Important dates and entry form is available on our website: www.flimmer.nu Deadline: 25th of July! ___ Flimmer is southeast Sweden's biggest independent film organisation and is based in Norrköping, a former forerunner of the industrial revolution in Sweden. In a city steeped in tradition and history, Flimmer has successfully established itself in two distinct areas. Norrkoping Film festival Flimmer is a favourite in the cinema-goers' calendar in southeast Sweden. The 14th annual festival will take place between 5th and 14th of October this year. Following the huge success of last year's festival, Flimmer will, this year, offer a multitude of films to please anybody who is genuinely interested in cinema. All the films are shown in Norrköping and are screened at times and in venues to maximise your enjoyment. Last year's festival opened with the Swedish film “Stockholm Östra”, the Swedish premieres of “Even the Rain” and Liz Garbus’ “Bobby Fischer Against the World”. The festival also saw the Swedish premieres of “Talihina Sky: the Story of Kings of Leon” and James Gunn’s “Super” as well as shocking yet informative documentaries; animation; short films; Midnight Screenings; and face-to-face interviews with actors, actresses and directors. This year the attempt is not only to maintain the quality and variety of last year’s festival but also to make this year even more memorable. Last year we therefore made the move to Cnema ( www.cnema.se ), the new venue for cinema goers in Norrköping and the East Sweden region, where three top modern auditoriums will host this year’s festival screenings. Our open air cinema is the biggest open-air cinema event in Sweden. The Flimmer Utomhusbio visits around 30 places in Sweden between June and September, and is welcoming 40 000 people to the inflatable giant screen. The open air cinema runs between May and September and this year’s programmes include Oscar winners and well-known Swedish titles. The programme is available here in May and each screening is free, although there will be a raffle every evening and donations are gratefully received.
