Mediterranean Festival Corto in Diamante, Italy has awarded their 2018 Best Soundtrack prize to GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs for his original score on FROM ON HIGH, a short film written and helmed by Dawn Westlake and produced by her Ron de Cana shingle. Johnson was a 2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee for his score for Westlake's 2015 film THROUGH THE PANE, and he won Best Musical Score for Westlake's A LIFE OF DEATH in 2006 from the Inventaunfilm Festival in Lenola, Italy.

GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs has been nominated for the Peer Raben Music Award from SoundTrack_Cologne in Koln, Germany for his score for "Through the Pane". The film will be presented at SoundTrack_Cologne on August 27, 2016.
Helmed and written by Dawn Westlake, the film is based on the memoir chapter of her father, Donald G. Westlake, about his acceptance of the death of her mother. Donald & Helen Gum Westlake were very happily married for 62 years.

SoundTrack_Cologne will take place for the 12th time in 2015. It is the largest German trade fair for music and sound in film, games and media, and a source of inspiration for the growing landscape of festivals and congresses in Europe. In some 30 round tables, panels, workshops and networking events, the focus is on current developments in the culture, law, marketing and technics of media music as well as business cases, professionalization and networking. The training of the younger generation of students is a central theme. And for the general public, there are also about 30 festival events with films about music.
A highlight of SoundTrack_Cologne 6.0, the Cologne Congress for Music and Sound in Film and Media, was the prize-giving ceremony on Saturday, 21st of November 2009. There were prizes for melodious TV music, for Rising Stars, and one for a legend: Irmin Schmidt was, for his life's work, awarded the SoundTrack_Cologne Lifetime Achievement Award.
