It Missed Awards Season, But SOMEBODY’S DAUGHTER Lives On #MMIW

By Quendrith Johnson, Los Angeles Correspondent LOS ANGELES, CA: Some films are timely in a way that makes them eternal on your screens, as well as in your heart, and SOMEBODY’S DAUGHTER is a movie that will break your heart but open your eyes at the same time. First consider the hashtag associated with this picture: #MMIW. It stands for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women (and girls). In this documentary it pertains to the Native Nations across the North America. In April, there wi...

Cannes- Gloomy weather presides all day Monday

ABOVE: cast of Foxcatcher on the red carpet Monday the 19th [photo courtesy of greenwichtime.com] The forecast Monday here in Cannes called for heavy rain beginning around noon and lasting well into the night, with 70% precipitation increasing up to 90%.  Fortunately, the rain that hit was intermittent at best and rarely more than a drizzle, sending the journalists, producers, and visiting cinematic fans scurrying about thankfully without much call for umbrellas, although the vendors st...

Cluj Shorts, Mersi! from "The Martini Effect"

It never rains in California? It pours. Man, it pours!! Here is a hello-thankyou ("Mersi!" is thank-you in Romanian) video I did at Cluj Shorts' invitation since I can't attend the fest personally later this month in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. ;-) Original music from the film is "Discovered in Darkness" by Gregory Johnson of Acoustic Labs.  https://vimeo.com/88020694    For more info on "The Martini Effect" and to see a trailer, please visit: ...

Droomkind (Dream Boy) theatrical trailer

This is the trailer of the 45 minutes fictional film Droomkind (Dream Boy). Dream Boy was made with the typical (international) film festival visitor in mind. The entire movie contains only two short lines of dialog. The soundtrack of this film (NOT the trailer's) is fully 5.1 surround with only custom recorded sound. The music is also specifically composed for it.
