Real Film Festival is back!
The Real Film Festival is a three-day community, arts and Industry event showcasing documentaries, independent short and feature films based on true stories. The Program comprises of film screenings, Industry development workshops, panel discussions, networking events and film competitions for filmmakers of all ages and experience.

"Through the Pane" has been selected to the 10th annual Jahorina Film Festival in Bosnia-Herzegovina for September 14-18, 2016.
Helmed by Dawn Westlake, the film is based on her father Donald G. Westlake's memoir chapter about the death of his wife of 62 years. Pol Carrizo-Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona shot and edited. A guitarviol score was composed by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs, a 2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee.

"Through the Pane" has received its 30th film festival acceptance! It will play the Fano International Film Festival in Italy from October 18-22, 2016.
Helmer Dawn Westlake has a long history with the Fano Film Festival, having one special jury awards for past films presented there. This is one of the coolest ideas for a festival...and "Through the Pane" has just been accepted as a top finalist for the jury award! We'll play the DAROCA & PRISION Film Fest in a prison in Zaragoza, Spain in September. This prison has been using film to rehab prisoners since 1918...and they have had an in-house filmmaking program since 2005, supported by leaders in the Spanish filmmaking industry. Join us for the largest screening in our region of experimental, contemporary, traditional, serious, gritty, and funny short animation films submitted from around the world. Over 100+ five minute or less videos were submitted from across the USA as well as from Austria, Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, Thailand, Iran, Israel, Japan, India, and more! The best 20 submissions will be selected for the 4th Annual Tulsa International Animation Festival by Living Arts’ Video Committee, including festival founder Mery McNett.
Doors and cash bar open at 7:30pm. Screening starts promptly at 8pm.
Admissions: $7, FREE for members of Living Arts

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, September 2, 2016 @ 5pm (central standard time) All animated films must consist of work that you have created. The Tulsa International Animation Festival features short film animations submitted locally and from around the world. Animations may be stop-motion, Claymation, 2-D animation, 3-D animation or cut-outs, to name a few. Videos MUST be 5:00 minutes or less. Curator Mery McNett and the Living Arts Video Committee will determine the festival selections. "Through the Pane" will play the Inventaunfilm Festival in Lenola, Italy August 9-13, 2016. Ten years ago, a previous film ("A Life of Death") helmer Dawn Westlake made with her father, Donald G. Westlake, won two awards at the 2006 Inventaunfilm: Third Place Film and Best Score for composer GC Johnson.
"Through the Pane" was also scored by GC Johnson. Editing/Cinematography and VFX were provided by Pol Carrizo Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona.
