The festival was organized in honor of the famous sci-fi writer Philip K Dick. The festival welcomes films that

have been inspired or adapted from Philip K Dick stories.  To promote visionary sci-fi, the kind you see in the works of Philip K Dick, Michel Houellebecq, Ray Bradbury,Heinlein,Ursula Le Guin, Jorge Luis Borges Sam Delany Jules Verne, Arthur C. Clarke.We are looking for dark.moody,strange, cerebral,off the beaten path sci-fi , one that provokes and engages our sense of awe and curiosity.Other themes include magical realism,cult, strange,the supernatural and the eerie.We look at films that push the cinematic form to new levels of expression.

We are also looking for good supernatural /horror stories that reflect the societies fears and paranoia. zombies,extreme cinema, fear of the flesh, disorientation.George Romero, Alexander Aja, Gaspar Noe,
Cronenberg,Alejandro Jodorowsky, H.P. Lovecraft.The theater of Fear.

In a nutshell  we are looking for good sci fi and horror stories.

This is the  inaugural season for the European festival.The festival will take place at L'Hybride Cinema in Lille France October 25-27, 2013.

Last year we ran the Philip K Dick film festival in New York to record
crowds.

This year we are hope to reproduce the success in Europe.

This festival pays more attention to fantastic, horror and supernatural with special emphasis on the new cinematic extremism in recent years.

 All entries submitted to the Philip European Philip K Dick festival are automatically considered for the New York Festival which will take place
later on in December.

AWARDS GALA
The winners of the HOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL – Features, Documentaries, Shorts – will be recognized on stage at the prestigious HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS GALA ceremony, and will receive 4 complimentary VIP GALA tickets. The Hollywood Film Awards Gala launches the awards season.

We are very proud that our finalists and winners have secured agents and distribution deals (HBO, Miramax, IFC, Indican, 7th Art Releasing, and Starz Entertainment among other distributors) due to their exposure during ourHollywood Film Festival.

Our latest success story is our HFF winner, CRAIG BREWER, for the sale of his movie “Hustle and Flow” to Paramount Studios for $9 million. Craig Brewer was discovered at the 2000 Hollywood Film Festival when we showcased the world premiere of his first film “Poor and Hungry.”

Another HFF winner, director Robert DeFranco, sold his film “Telling You” to Miramax. Our winner Zoe Clarke-Williams got a directing job for an MGM film after we honored her. In addition, our winning documentarian Janine Hoskins sold her documentary “My Khmer Heart” to HBO.

About IFFLA

The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is a nonprofit organization devoted to a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing films, supporting emerging filmmakers, recognizing the leadership of entertainment industry performers and business executives, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora.

Each year the festival is held at the ArcLight Hollywood and features a rich mix of film programs designed to build and support the growing interest in the Indian entertainment industry. This includes programming that cultivates an audience for Indian films while supporting filmmakers of Indian descent in career development as they navigate the larger studio system in Hollywood.
