"27m2" is the winner of ÉCU's 2011 "Film of the Festival" award. World Premiere - Robert Marron is the receptionist of the Eldorado Hotel, lost in his language theory. He want to become a translator for couples, convinced that everyone is a language and that he has the faculty to understand everyone. This film is an essay on lack of communication for people who think they need to be understood.

The mark of a truly successful film festival is the creative connection
between participants. I was at ECU to give a script-writing workshop,
Ellis had come from Minneapolis for the music showcase. Impressed by her
charisma, her wise smile, her poetry, I approached her after a set and
proposed we make a video clip, an improvisation. It was an instant

OPENING NIGHT UPDATESWhat an amazing start to the festival ! To celebrate this year’s ÉCU film festival, a launch party was held
at La Scopitone, Opera, where filmmakers, partners, and the french press
could meet the ÉCU team and get a taste of what is to come in two
weeks. An anonymous ÉCU team member (intern spy) documented the evening
surreptitiously mingling in the crowd whilst all the while jotting down
