"The Martini Effect" was selected to the 8th Thess International Film Festival for October 25-29, 2014 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Festival director Yiannis Zachopoulos received over 1,000 entries for this edition of the festival. "The Martini Effect" tells the story of a couple who is "underwater" on their home and unable to pay their mortgage due to some personal problems and bad choices. "The Martini Effect" has been selected to compete in the international program of the 2014 Fenaco Peru Film Festival held in Cuzco, from November 12-15, 2014. Director/producer/writer Dawn Westlake will be in attendance. The film was shot on the Canon C300 by Brandon Bondehagen in Los Angeles and Malibu. The DV Awards is a new and exciting international competition celebrating outstanding creative and technical achievements in the emerging world of digital video production. From independent films, commercials, corporate communications and industrial videos to 3D animation, special effects and event videos, dozens of categories will be recognized.
With the advent and increasing affordability of digital video, a rising number of outstanding productions are not being produced in multimillion dollar film and television studios, but in small desktop studios, manned by a few determined and creative individuals. Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival is the most prestigious indie film event in the Philippines. The ten-day festival is held late July annually at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and other satellite venues. Grants are given for the production of full-length digital features -10 New Breed for newbies, and 5 Directors Showcase for more experienced directors. Aside from the grants and the competition, other exhibition modules are held, along with a 2-day Film Congress.

While most of the techniques in evidence - dissolves, fades, double exposures etc - were in use within a few years of the birth of cinema, they are presented here in a context which highlights their potential within the digital era, serving the needs of an ever-expanding visual language.
Threads was edited within a single editing program. No additional plug-ins were used.
