Films that...Entertain...Educate...InspireThe 2016 Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) will showcase films that entertain, educate, inspire, and communicate Black American cultural themes to the broader community as expressed through movies and art that reflect cultural mindset and changes through several generations of film-making. The 2016 Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) is a month long expo of engaging and entertaining films and events, culminating in a major screening of over 25 award-winning and/or though provoking films January 29-31. The Festival offers programming for the family inspired by the African-American experience. DBFF seeks to offer the works of local, national and international filmmakers, that often are not seen by a broad audience and may not be recognized through major theatrical release.
Dawn Westlake's "Games People Play" received its 40th festival acceptance today with L'Aquila Film Fest in L'Aquila, Italy for December 8-18, 2015. Shot on the C500 by Jon Carr, the film was scored by Alvarez-featured guitarist GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs in the style of Ennio Morricone. "Games People Play" stars David Razowsky, Mark Jacobson and Westlake, herself.

"Games People Play" has been selected to the 5th annual Athens International Digital Film Fest in Greece for December 17-23, 2015. This is the 39th festival acceptance for the 2014 comedy noir helmed and written by Dawn Westlake. The film was shot on the CanonC500 and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects by Jon Carr. An Ennio Morricone-esque score was composed by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs.
