Do you think Film Festivals are making the best usage of new onl

Honestly I can't really say for other Festivals, but I know here at Indie Fest USA we are giving All Independent Artists the ability to utilize the latest Technologies. We partnered with Hottest and Sexiest Media Network out of Toronto Canada this year to bring a platform that ALL Independent Artists have many options to distribute their work.

H & S has startegically put together a Worldwide network of Mobile Content Providers to allow Models to upload their work and maintain controll of the rights, Same with musicians, but they didn't stop their, they have upgraded their system to allow the great Independent Filmmakers worldwide to distribute their work as well, whether it is selling a DVD, to downloading a copy of their trailer to a mobile device, they make between 35-95% depending on the plan that they use.

H & S also brought the ability for us to stream live from the Festival, so that is going to be a new thing, and something that I know we will utilize well into the future. We are working on other ways to further the Festival as well, utilizing the technologies available, and we keep our eyes on the future.

We have friends of the Festival that have found that Internet distribution of their films is remarkable.

We are also watching the Theatres in Southern California, and have seen several that now have Streaming capabilities, so they don't even have a disk on premises, they are cutting power consumption, paying less, and therefore making more money. When the Distribution companies catch up to the needs I feel that we will start to see that this is the way of the future, and Independent Films will get the same chances as Studio films for distribution.
