This morning we toured the "street schools" in the slums of Cite Soleil and surrounding areas, the poorest neighborhoods in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere; the schools sponsored by NPH International and Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ). Most were destroyed. The good news was that the quake hit just as school had let out, so nowhere near as many children were killed as we feared. Still, too many. We met many people who had lost children, sisters and brothers. W...

Beyond history

As I told you before "Sean penn's Puzzle" tries to make a conversation with an absent soul. The movie goes beyond history...all of its historical shots are the visual-cells of a creative mind who wants to discover himself by a kind of improvization through history. this movie is surreal, fun and reminds me Zhigavertov and Alain Renais at the same time.(Jose Alvarez

History's Chaos

Seeing "Sean Penn's Puzzle" without considering history as a chaotic phenomenon is an absurd work. The shots of Rosa Parks, Emma Goldman,JFK,Martin Luther King, etc as the leading roles of modern soceity, beside Mossadegh and Takhti, etc, makes a mosaic of history that needs interpretations to get its signs and symbols. (Edward Mckee)

Sean Penn's Puzzle

"Sean Penn's Puzzle" is not a plain docudrama. It should be seen many times to understand completely. The film is challenging our looking style to  story-telling, plot, and classical portrait of actors, etc. It's very exotic and ofcourse a tribute to Sean penn. ( Edward Mckee)
