International Teen Shorts Film Festival

Young Moviemakers get together in Istanbul

International Teen Shorts Film Festival welcomes approximately 60 young cinephiles from all over the world. Organized by KSGD,  its’FilmFestival is supported  by European Union Youth and Education Fonds.

Within the scope of the festival which is realized this year for the first time, young people at the ages of 13-19 from divers countries will meet in Istanbul. Simoultanously with the presentations of the competion movies in Istanbul Beyoğlu Sineması between September 24-31; certain critics, directors and musicians such as Ceylan Özçelik, Selim Demirdelen, Ümit Ünal, Selim Evci, Alexander Brondsted, Antonio Tublen, Krister Linder will have the opportunity to transfer their knowledge to participants throgh workshops. As it seems, primary goal of the festival is not only to be a regular film festival but also move forward Istanbul’s young moviemakers to a further international platform.

Films will be competing under three categories, Go Slow (video Art), The Smallest Girl Ate The Biggest Apple (Komedi) and Well Done (Drama). Whilst all the category winner will be awarded with a “Red Apple”, the most successful film will also receive a reward of € 1.000.
In addition to this, certain NGO’s will reward the movies with green, purple and white apples that they found to be sensitive about social issues such as environment, discrimination and disabled people. Out of competition part will include certain directors’ short films that they shot in their youth. Workshops will be open to the participation of everyone. Movies who are not accepted in the competition will be displayed in this section.

KSGD which was founded by 110 people 1 year ago defines itself as a project engine which associated for the purpose of providing suport to the creative intelligence and assisting it for its self-actualisation. Consisting of volunteers and professionals, KSGD involves advertisement, public relations and organization experts in it.
