March 25th - April 1st 2007: Film theater Lumière will be the principal venue for the annual Film Festival Maastricht. The program comprises an exhilarating mixture of special import-productions and an overwhelming number of Dutch avant-premières. The festival pushes boundaries to encompass a share of cutting-edge productions...and also quite literally crosses borders. A small number of films will be shown in the German city of Aachen and the Belgian city of Tongeren. Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the E.U. milestone The Treaty of Rome, ‘Europe’ as such is the overall theme we chose for this edition of the festival...which is not to say that there are only european produced movies in the program.
