PLATFORMA VIDEO9 is an independent international film festival based in Athens, Greece. It addresses film-makers from around the world, predominantly choosing video and the new media as their means of cinematographic expression. The festival hosts a vast range of films from around the world of diverse genres (fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental) and all lengths, awarding a Grand Prize and an Audience Prize.
PLATFORMA VIDEO9 International Digital Film Festival will take place on 6 - 9 November 2009 at BIOS Cultural Centre. The festival will host films from all over the world in two competition sections and a series of film tributes (Festivals Tribute, Nuclei, Music in Motion, ANTHROPOS), media literacy initiatives such as the audiovisual workshop PLATFORMA in motion as well as seminars, open discussions on audiovisual culture, a photographic exhibition and numerous parallel events and parties.
