In Marseille ostensibly to finish a screenplay based on his book Butcher A Hog, Brian O' talks about his process and struggle to continue writing.

He walks and drives around Marseille looking for an epiphany... "Brian O' " tells the story of a working-class plasterer by trade who happened to write a book. Brian O' desires to climb above his mundane existence. Thus far he has achieved no commercial success.

Through Brian O's unscripted narration, we experience his struggles as he faces a dilemma of whether he should continue to create art . We come to learn that what is truly tormenting him is a traumatic childhood.
