Honorary Goya Award to Antonio Mercero

The Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España will give its Honorary Goya Award to Antonio Mercero for his cinematographic career full of success in all fields and for being able to join humor and sorrow in almost all of his productions in television and cinema with his very own style for more than 50 years now.Since 1962 we has developed his career on the small and big screen.He is best know as the director of a 1972 surrealist short horror film titled La Cabina,that won an Emmy Award.Also awarded with Concha de Oro (Golden Shell) and Perla del Cantábrico at the San Sebastian Film Festival,Critics Award at Montercarlo Film Festival or Medalla de Oro de las Artes in 1996.

In his latests films he faced with courage illnesses like children´s cancer (Planta Cuarta) and Alzheimer (Y tú quién eres?).

Director of the TV hits like Verano Azul and later Farmacia de Guardia,he will receive his well-deserved  Honorary Goya Award during the Ceremony that will take place in Madrid,next 14th February.
