Australian Film Festival in China

The Australian Embassy in Beijing is organising an Australian Film Festival, “My Australian Life”, which takes place in Beijing in December 2009. The festival features a mix of newly releases and classics Australian films, award-winning animations and groundbreaking documentaries. All the films are screened in English with Chinese subtitles.



Ten films are screened at the Megabox cinema in Sanlitun village from Friday December 4 to Sunday December 13. Eight award-winning Australian documentaries will also be screened at the Beijing Film Academy from December 11 to December 13.



The Opening Ceremony took place on Friday December 4 with “Mary and Max” by Adam Elliot as the opening film. The animated film already won the Feature Film Award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the Crystal Bear - Special Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.
