Paper Heart – a heartfelt story of doubts…

Charlyne Yi - most known from her role in the movie "Knocked Up" - is a genuine character. At first I wasn't sure how to feel about her fictional documentary "Paper Heart" -and my question remains: does it really contribute something new to this old question about love?

Charlyne sets out to interview people across America about love. She questions her own ability to love someone else and even seeks answers from medical professionals: maybe, biologically speaking, not everyone is capable to love?

In a somewhat predictable turn of events, she meets a boy and hesitantly develops feeling for him. We watch her struggle against these feelings, but in the end her heart is wide open and she obviously has surrendered to what we call "love."

Despite a somewhat predictable plot and "old" news, Charlyne's charm won me over. She touched my heart and made me re-examine my own ideas about love. I walked out with a smile on my face and can definitely recommend this piece of art to anyone who wants to laugh, analyze a bit and listen to beautiful music. Actually, the music is one of the highlights of this film.
