New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010 Coverage
By Maria Esteves - September 27, 2009
The New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010 Collections (MBFW/SS10) presented by IMG Fashion were held at the iconic runways in Bryant Park and off-site, September 10-17, 2009. Mercedes-Benz presented designer Narciso Rodriquez as this season's highest level of quality, dedication, and innovation in design. Day one Spring/Summer 2010 runway shows preceded "FASHION'S NIGHT OUT," the biggest global fashion industry celebration of style by 700 participants from local boutiques to department stores in every borough in New York City, 7:00pm - 11:00pm.
Celebrities and fashionistas dominated the front rows at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 runway shows. The season styles off the catwalk featured stunning bright rich colors by Michael Angel and Custo Barcelona, classic collections by Mara Hoffman, elements of style with a mix of serenity and seduction by Donna Karan, and elegant sculptural tailored styles with fluidity by Narciso Rodriquez. The premiere films that coincided with New York's Fashion Week included BRIGHT STAR, directed by Jane Campion (now playing in select theaters), COCO BEFORE CHANNEL, directed by Anne Fontaine (now playing in theaters), and SCHMATTA: Rags To Riches To Rags, directed by Marc Levin (premieres Monday, October 19, 9PM on HBO).
