Doc/Fest film submissions now open

Sheffield International Documentary Festival (Doc/Fest) is now open to receive online film submissions for the official programme and Videotheque 2009. The festival, to be held this year between 4-8 November, welcomes documentary films of any style, duration or subject produced for cinema, television, as part of film school coursework or for cross-platform. Established and debut filmmakers are encouraged to apply. In 2008 Doc/Fest was attended by over 1300 UK and international filmmakers, commissioners, distributors and buyers.  The deadline for submitting a film is 17 June 2009.  Doc/Fest Film Programmer, Hussain Currimbhoy, said: “In 2008 we received over 1,000 film submissions from across the world. Sheffield Doc/Fest is the UK's premiere platform to launch documentaries into Europe and a perfect place to meet co-producers and funders for forthcoming projects.” This year Doc/Fest will again present awards to the best film

in the following categories: Innovation, Youth Jury, Green, Audience and Student Doc, with further award categories still to be announced.

Filmmakers can enter their film online via the
