"A FESTIVAL WIFE" TO BE SERIALIZED ON FEST21.COM
Filmfestivals.com, the online source for global film festival news and
resources, will serialize "A Festival Wife," a first novel by former
Variety reporter Rex Weiner, and publish on fest21.com culminating in Cannes.

Henry Dean, veteran publicist, resists retirement by holding onto his
PR job for the San Lorenzo Film Festival, where for twenty-eight years
he has stayed at the Hotel Medici, maintaining a long-running affair
with his beloved Leticia, one of the hotel's chamber maids. But Henry's
job (and love affair) depends upon looking after the Festival's guest
of honor – a cantankerous older film director who only needs a little
press – and the task is proving much more trouble than anticipated. On
top of that, Henry has promised a shady group of financiers to place a
story in Variety about their new film company – but can he persuade the
reporter from Variety to write it?
A steady Mediterranean drizzle kept the crowds indoors for the second
day of the festival. The beach restaurants would suffer, of course, and
too bad for them – they'd more than make it up with their inflated menu
prices. But in between screenings the cafes and bars up and down the
Passagia would be full and the expensive shops along the fashionable
end of the Via Inglaterra and the quainter streets in the Porto Vecchio
would prosper.

in its tenth year, the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival is a showcase for new
and classic children's films, TV shows, and DVDs from studios,
independent producers and youth producers. Programming includes sneak
previews of outstanding films, DVDs and TV shows made for children ages
2 through 18.
