A Little History and a Look into the Future
Clones Film Festival was launched in 2001 and is steadily growing to be the biggest event of it's type in the area. Organised by Lmb Entertainments, the festival was artistically directed by Larry and Gilly Fogg in 2001. Since then the festival has been artistically directed by Thomas Zechner and Harry Cleary, who have chosen programmes that are as diverse as they have been entertaining. 2009 sees the 8th year of the festival and will be our biggest and most ambitious yet. This is the 3rd year of the Scanbitz Short Film Challenge when teams of professional filmmakers compete to script, shoot, edit and screen a finished short film during the festival. Our Short Film Competition is now in it's second year and is now accepting entries. This year's festival will be artisically directed by James Sheerin, Thomas Zechner and Stephen McKenna. All the info is on the website www.clonesfilmfestival.com
The festival has been supported by Monaghan County Council, The Arts Council, Access Cinema, The Cinemobile, Failte Ireland and a host of local businesses.
