German Film Music Day in Cannes
At a press conference for German Film Music yesterday, May 21st, "Sony/ATV Music Publishing (Germany) and Soundtrack_Cologne, the Cologne convention on music in film and the media, announced a far-reaching collaboration in the field of talent scouting.
"As part of a first-look agreement the winners of NEW SOUNDS IN EUROPEAN FILM, SoundTrack_Cologne’s European competition, will, among others, get the chance to be signed up for a publishing contract with Sony/ATV. For this purpose both partners founded a joint edition, which is open in particular to young composers and is meant to facilitate getting started in the film business."
According to Patrick Strauch, Managing Director Sony/ATV Music Publishing, "SoundTrack_Cologne as the leading German industry forum is the ideal partner for our efforts in getting to know young European talents at an early stage in their career and binding them to our publishing house."
Also there to speak, Managing Director of SoundTrack_Cologne organizer/Televisor, said, “The chance of working with a big publishing company is a great opportunity for many of the young talents participating in our competition. We are extremely pleased about this partnership; it is another important step in smoothing the way into the industry for our up-and-coming European composers."
