Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma - Un Certain Regard at Cannes

An ambitious young filmmaker named Kris tries to revive the fading slasher franchise Camp Miasma by seeking out the reclusive actress who played its original “Final Girl.” As the two women immerse themselves in the mythology of the films, the line between fantasy and reality blurs into a surreal world shaped by fear, desire, and violent hallucinations. 

The movie reimagines the 1980s slasher genre as strangely empowering and emotionally sincere, centering on the cult legend of “Little Death,” a transgender killer who stalks teenagers at a haunted summer camp. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma opened the Un Certain Regard sidebar at Festival de Cannes.
