Jordan Firstman Opening Speech at Club Kid Premiere
Club Kid, directed by and starring Jordan Firstman, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in the Théâtre Claude Debussy. In a speech full of humor and love, Firstman opened his speech by asking "Any gay people in the house?," evoking an enthusiastic applause from the audience. He called the film's production a "labor of love" and its premiere a "dream come true."
"It's a film about cultivating kindness within your community and kindness for yourself."
After some thanks, he finished his speech by saying “What an honor to play in the Debussy theater. I love Debussy. I can’t get enough of the Debussy. I could live in Debussy. And I can’t wait for my film to screen in Debussy.”
