I make movies for people who work hard — often more than one job — just to support themselves and their families. By the weekend, they’ve earned a break. And when they choose to spend their hard-earned money on a movie ticket — or even just keep their Netflix subscription — I take that seriously.
My job is to give them something worth that choice. I want to pull them out of the grind, make them laugh, surprise them, and let them forget the rest of the world for those two hours.
