Seattle International Film Festival Announces The Invite as Closing Night Film!
The 52nd annual Seattle International Film Festival will reach its conclusion with A24’s The Invite on May 17, 2026, with director & star Olivia Wilde scheduled to attend. This sendoff of the SIFF Effect will take place at SIFF Cinema Downtown at 7pm.
After ten days of pure cinelation, the Festival will have highlighted independent artists and underrepresented voices from over 70 countries. Our audiences have been brought together by the collective laughter, gasps, and awe inspired by unforgettable filmmaking.

Fresh off its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and newly acquired by A24, The Invite has already generated strong buzz, with early reviews calling it “a wildly funny, deeply human look at modern relationships.” Also starring Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton, the film follows two very different couples whose lives collide during an unexpected night together. Wilde will appear in person to present this San Francisco-set story, which was written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
