The Haven- Riccardo Cannella- 90’' (Ita) - horror

A family, parents and two boys, one of whom is already a teenager, have been living far from civilization on a farm in the middle of the woods for a
long time. Outside, a virus is killing even the animals. The father tries to protect them, even from the witch who lives in the woods and from a
strange sound that they don't know where it comes from. One day, the son of the deceased farm owner arrives with his two young daughters to
claim his property. To survive together, they must accept the rules. Death lurks. And old lies are revealed. Spoken in the ancient Sicilian language, this
is Cannella's second feature film after 2022's ‘U Scrusciu du Mari’, an example of Italian independent cinema.

Meanwhile, the City is cruel to its citizens. Jovan seeks revenge. An example of the best Serbian cinema, with high production values and excellent
actors, reminiscent of ‘Mad Max’. Selection of the London Sci-Fi Festivals, Fantasy Filmfest in Germany, Screamfest in Los Angeles and Best Director
Award at the Sydney Sci-Fi Fest.

Maldito Amor Ladislau Ramalho- 118’ (Angola) - drama

A famous actor named Zulu, married with two children, lives happily with his family until he meets Kaina, who seduces him and turns his
professional and personal life upside down. Zulu would give up everything, including his marital bliss and even a valuable contract. Until she reveals
herself, too late. Another example of contemporary Angolan cinema, with emphasis on the performance of the protagonist, actor Sílvio Nascimento.
This is the first feature film by the director, known for the TV series “O Rio” (2022), and comes from the same production company that presented
“A Caixa” in Fantasporto in 2025.

hungry landscape, with a dead sea. His wife does not seem like the same person; his son has disappeared.

In the future, studying is no longer necessary. Artificial intelligence does everything. The world of the rich is closed off and no one can enter. A man
with amnesia searches for his identity and receives help from an organisation to recover his memory and reconstruct his past, thanks to an oracle
that reads people's faces that reveal who they are and what they have experienced. A pessimistic but possible vision of a dystopian future. The
director is known for his feature films “Castanha” (2014) and “Rifle”, both screened at the Berlin Film Festival. This new film, his fourth feature film,
was selected for the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and won the Brasília 2025 Award.

Papa Buka- Dr Biju Damodaran – 102’ (Papua Nova Guiné/ India) - drama, ecologia, bio-diversidade
 
Two Indians. A photographer, Romila, and a historian, Anand, set out to discover the stories of soldiers from their country who died in Papua during
World War II, fighting alongside the Australians and the British. One of them is Romila's grandfather. Their guide is Papa Buka, a wise old man who
introduces them to the dance, music, tribes, biodiversity, cultural heritage and, above all, the suffering of a war that was not theirs.
This film is Papua New Guinea's Oscar nominee, co-produced with India and directed by one of India's most prestigious filmmakers, whose work has
won awards at multiple festivals, including Fantasporto. Three times winner of the National Indian Film Award, member of the Oscar selection
committee in 2015, his first film was “Saira” (2007), screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Other features followed and earning over 20 awards all
over the world in numerous festivals such as Shanghai, Cannes, Moscovo, Chicago or Tallin. In Fantasporto with “Painting Life” (2018), he was
granted the Critics Award. He is also known for “Birds with Large Wings” (2015), “Sound of Silence” (2017), winner of the Cincinatti Film Festival, and
“Trees Under the Sun” (2019), awarded as Best Film in Toulouse. “Invisible Windows” (2022), screened in Fantasporto, preceeded this “Papa Buka”
(2025).
