Play-Doc Call for Entries Still Open

The International Film Festival Play-Doc continues with  the call for entries open for its 22nd edition, which will take place from April 29 to May 3, 2026, in Tui, Galicia, Spain.

Submissions may be made until March 20, 2026.

The call is open to films of all lengths and genres, with no restrictions on subject matter or nationality. Films selected for the competitive sections will compete for cash awards and a trophy awarded by an international jury.

Over the years, the festival has developed a programme focused on non-fiction cinema in its broadest sense, encompassing documentary, essay film, experimental cinema, and hybrid practices. Its programming combines competitive sections dedicated to contemporary cinema with major retrospectives. The programme is grounded in an ongoing commitment to the recovery, rediscovery, and reappraisal of significant filmographies, alongside special programmes that foster dialogue between recent works and cinematic heritage.

Play-Doc also features a range of industry activities aimed at supporting project development and the continued circulation of selected works, together with meetings with filmmakers, spaces for critical reflection, and training initiatives. The edition will further include a programme of parallel activities featuring workshops, masterclasses, expanded cinema, live music, and exhibitions, as well as the professional platform VENTURA, dedicated to industry meetings, project development, and the training of filmmakers and producers.
