Dear Indie Film Family,
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of WorldFest's fearless founder and leader of the festival for the last 57 years. J. Hunter Todd was an iconoclast in his field fighting for the fiercely independent filmmaker. Please visit his In Memoriam page to learn more about the life and legacy of Hunter and the Film Festival.

We are committed to continuing his legacy of championing the independent filmmaker with another round of WorldFest-Houston, April 24 through May 4, 2025.
We'll be kicking things off at River Oaks Theater (WorldFest used to have its opening night there in the 1980's) then returning to our regularly scheduled program at our home of 7 years, Cinemark Memorial City.
Passes are currently on sale and individual tickets will be available when we announce our program schedule in late March.
Lopez Negrete Communications continues to do an incredible creative job in bringing the vision of the festival to life with a gorgeous and meaningful new campaign focused on the emotions and characters present in the complex of independent cinema.

Please join us at our festival lead up parties: March 21 and April 11 at Kirby Ice House - Memorial from 6 - 8pm. First 25 folks get a free drink and we'll have delicious bites from Southern Standard catering. Stay for door prizes and sneak peeks at our line up plus rub elbows with festival staff and local filmmakers.

WorldFest's mission is to recognize and honor outstanding creative excellence in film and video by validating brilliant abilities, to promote cultural tourism for Houston, to develop film production in the region and to enhance the rich cultural fabric of the city of Houston.
