Films such as MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE (1985) made Stephen Frears a leading voice in New British Cinema. He followed up on this with such internationally popular and multiple award-winning films as DANGEROUS LIAISONS (1988), THE QUEEN (2006), and PHILOMENA (2013).
