THE WINNERS OF THE GIO AUDIENCE AWARDS ARE...

We received nearly 18,000 votes for this year’s GIO Audience Awards, which reflect the most popular films at Sydney Film Festival – as voted by you! We’re thrilled to announce the winners of all four categories for 2023:



Best Australian Documentary

Winner: The Defenders

Runner Up: The Last Daughter



Best Australian Narrative Feature

Winner: Birdeater

Runner Up: The Big Dog



Best International Documentary

Winner: Beyond Utopia

Runner Up: Little Richard: I Am Everything



Best International Feature

Winner: Anatomy of a Fall

Runner Up: Perfect Days
