In these last days of 2021, on behalf of the team who make the Festival possible, I would once again like to thank you for your support, a crucial factor in enabling San Sebastian to remain in place as a reference for the film industry, the media and the audience.

As the edition draws to a close, we recall the words of the great filmmaker (and movie lover) who left us in March, Bertrand Tavernier: "The love of cinema allowed me to find my place in life".

We look forward to seeing you next year in San Sebastian when we will celebrate the Festival's first seven decades with more films, conversations and projects.
