The Lurking Glimpses of My Genre Practice

"Those Contours Will Not Quench Within, or The Clay of Magic Sounds" (director-essayist Anna Polibina-Polansky, 2012). My film devoted to Anna Akhmatova received a diploma (from the hands of L.G.Parfyonov and E.Neizvestny) and was primarily demonstrated at Tribeca Cinemas, in 2012, at Manhattan, New York.

The film's script is based at my equity-rhythmic English poetic translations out of the repertory of Anna Akhmatova. "Up Scooped Epochs", my lyric cycle, appeared at the same year in New York, at the "New Journal" supervised by the editor Marina Adamovitch.

My lyric books in English, "Hosanna to My Anguish" and "The Moon-Eyed Mirror of Anna Polibina-Polansky" have been issued recently in Moscow, at "New Choices" rhyzographic workshop (granted by Canadian colleagues from Alberta). These are books in a restricted circulation, of my poetry and my English poetic translations from Arabian, Farsi, Spanish and Russian. There you will find also my versified English translations from Akhmatova, Mandelstam and other poetic masters of the "silver age". The first book is also comprised of my poetic translations from Brodsky, Akhmatova's known follower and a Nobeli laureate, to whose poetic destiny I devoted several of my lyric films. My films-essays of Brodsky, Rein, Bobyshev ("Akhmatova's lyric orphanage") were demonstrated in 2013 at the literary studio of Covalgi, at the Central House of Moscow Literators (Nikitsky Blvd.).
