The Berlinale Forum is celebrating its anniversary: 50 years of dedication to independent, adventurous, daring cinema. A perfect opportunity to look back at the past, celebrate what’s been achieved and think about what the future will bring. This dual gaze – backwards and forwards at the same time – characterises numerous films in the programme. Only those aware of what was can shape what will come. More on the programme here.

The new decade begins with much speechlessness and thus a need for ever clearer words to be found. How does such a present change the curatorial gaze? What is the role of art and cinema? The 39 installations and films at Forum Expanded address a wide range of current topics. But above all, they refer to themselves as being part of the wider structure from which they emerged. EFM Doc Salon und Producers Hub

“EFM Producers Hub” and “DocSalon” Back with New Co-Operations and Content

The programme of the “EFM Producers Hub” (February 20-26) will cover all topics of current relevance for producers while offering its usual diverse range of content for industry attendees. “DocSalon” (February 21-26) will once again provide guests from the documentary film branch with opportunities for networking and exchange.
