What are contemporary forms for journalistic factual or documentary content? How can the possibilities of cross- and transmedial narration be put into practice?

DOK.digital seeks answers to the question of how stories and facts must be told in the future in order to reach an increasingly demanding audience.

The DOK.forum Perspektiven honours courageous digital narrative formats. The prize is donated by the Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien (BLM). Young journalists, filmmakers, games designers and producers (up to the age of 35) from German-speaking countries are invited to submit their projects by 3rd February 2020.

The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros and will be awarded at the DOK.forum Perspectives in May 2020.

DOK.forum Marketplace 2020

The co-production and ideas market of DOK.fest München is now looking for outstanding projects from German-speaking countries. Any documentary format at any stage of development is welcome. In the coming edition (7th to 10th May 2020), the about 30 best concepts will meet strong and committed partners from the fields of editing, production, promotion and sales at moderated roundtable sessions, one-to-one meetings and pitching competitions. For the Master's Pitch, ideas with the greatest potential for international co-productions are in demand.

For the endowed German Composition Award, donated by Sonoton Music, film composition concepts in particular are sought, for the British Pathé Archive Award projects with a relevant share of archive material, and for the Marketplace Screenings films in the rough cut stadium. All students at our partner universities have the opportunity to submit their current projects for the Pitch Award of Haus des Dokumentarfilms.

Our offer is aimed at aspiring and experienced filmmakers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and South Tyrol. The topics of the concepts are not bound to these regions. Deadline is 3rd February 2020 (except Pitch Award: 1st March). Further information and submission
