HFPA Foreign Language Film Series with interview Hans Petter Moland
The third edition of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Film series took place in Hollywood this week-end, highlighting films submitted for consideration for the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign-Language Film.
The screening day showcased acclaimed films from Guatemala, Norway, Kazhakstan and The Philippines:
-"Our Mothers", directed by Cesar Diaz, winner of the Camera D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and Belgium official submission to the 92th Academy Awards.
-"Out Stealing Horses", directed by Hans Petter Moland, nominated for The Golden Bear at the 69th International Berlin Festival and Norway official submission to the 92th Academy Awards. I met with Hans Petter Moland for an interview.
-"Shyrakshy, Guardian Of The Light", directed by Ermek Tursunov. The film is set in postwar villages in the Kazakh countryside.
-"The Halt", directed by Lav Diaz. The Sci-Fi epic is set in The Philippines.
From all the films submitted to HFPA, including previous screenings of films from France, Russia, Canada, China, South Korea, Turkey and Columbia , five nominees will be selected as finalists for the annual Golden Globes in January.
